Oyster Soccer Tourney

After 14 incredible years of hosting by the NC Chapter of the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives, the Oyster Tourney is entering an exciting new chapter! Superb Futbol Club is proud to take the helm of this beloved event, continuing its legacy of community, competition, and celebration.

Join us for a day of competitive soccer and delicious oysters!


  • WHAT: Annual 7v7 Co-Ed Adult Soccer Tournament and Oyster Roast
  • WHEN: Saturday, November 29th, 2025
  • WHERE: Veteran’s Park - Wilmington, NC


Tournament format

The Oyster Tourney is a great opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day of soccer and festivities.



  • Teams: All teams are Adult (18+) Co-Ed (7v7), with a minimum of 2 female players on the field at all times.
  • Games: Teams are guaranteed 3 games.
  • Sportsmanship: Players are expected to self-referee with honesty and integrity. Each team provides a “referee” for 1-2 games to keep time and ensure fair play.
  • Awards: After each game, teams vote for 2 players from the opposing team with the best attitude. These players will be in the running for the prestigious "Pearl" Award.


rule of play

FIFA laws are observed with the following 7v7 modifications:



  • Games consist of two 30-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime.
  • A minimum of 2 female players must be on the field at all times.
  • Unlimited, on-the-fly substitutions from midfield.
  • No offsides. No slide tackling.
  • Goalkeepers must distribute the ball to touch the field or a player before crossing midfield. No drop kicks.
  • Teams earn 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss. Goal differential determines placement if points are tied.


the after party

The after-party is FREE for all tournament participants! Friends and family can join in the festivities for just $15 (pre-purchase) or $20 after November 26th.


Tickets include:


  • A bucket of freshly harvested steamed Topsail Clusters (approximately a dozen or more oysters).
  • Crackers, cocktail sauce, hot sauce, and lemons provided.
